I just posted this on the transfer thread because it made me laugh...

West Ham have ended their interest in Olivier Giroud. They made the decision right after Giroud told them to piss off & stop bothering him.

Bilic: "We are pretty close [to completing transfers]. We are working hard every day. I am really expecting to add a couple more soon.

Everybody is talking about a striker. We are working on it, but we are not going to get someone that we are not sure about.

We want someone to come in, put the jersey on and play. And we are going to do it. We are going to get someone that we really want.”

(taken from the same source as Eddie's post from https://twitter.com/whufc_news Is there a press conference he's doing somewhere?)

Re: Giroud ?
Priceless. Utterly priceless.

After telling the mouthpieces that we " discovered" his salary and terms and that we would match any bid for him we then leak it out that we're waiting for arsenal to sign people.

Arsenal then having signed a replacement, we suddenly move the goal posts and tell the mouth pieces we've "discovered" that he wants to stay.

When Giroud then starts talking like he may accept leaving we then leak out that we're pulling out as apparently he's got other offers.

Offers which we'd said we'd match and that he was the striker everyone at the club really wanted.

The lying shitcunts.

Yawn, £20m, nope. Next. Oh right there is no one in the queue now. Can we please get our South American on loan deal done now. Cant wait to see the YouTube clip of him scoring a hat-trick against Guatamana Pedigree Tigers Reserves.

Presume we've steamed in with a bid this morning now he's hinted at leaving.
After all we ended our interest the day after ST sold out as we were in such a rush to sign a striker and couldn't wait for him to decide his future.

Giroud, talking at the club’s launch of their new third choice kit in Sydney, said: “It (leaving) is an option to be honest with you.

“I’m here in pre-season, I wanted to travel. Some people asked me if I am going to travel or not and of course, I am Arsenal player and for the moment I am here so I just want to prepare well for the season and we will see later.

“But it is true that I really enjoyed my five years with Arsenal. I’m still an Arsenal player for the moment so I try to be professional. No matter what happens, I did my job on the pitch.

“It’s been five years that I’ve been here. It could be my sixth one. I had an amazing welcome from the fans and from the club and it has been five amazing years for me.

“I won’t forget it, no matter what happens. We will see about my future but I am still an Arsenal player for the moment.”

Giroud added: “It’s always nice for the club to get several strikers with different qualities and it is always nice for competition and it helps you to step up every time.

“I really enjoyed all my time at the Arsenal and I scored a few nice goals but always like to speak about the team, the team spirit and the team work.”

Re: Giroud ?
It didn't stop the club continuing to leak to their mouthpieces, Ex and Hugh that we would be in for him did it? The club have yet again stoked rumours and used smoke and mirrors.

I doubt we had any serious interest in him at all

the story about him wanting to stay came out days before Lacazette signed

Re: Giroud ?
Well would you look at that!

Having "discovered" that giroud was available and having said to club mouthpieces we would be in for him as soon as arsenal sign someone, the day after they do we now "discover" that he doesn't want to leave.

Re: Giroud ?
The Giroud bit's relevant to the thread. But I had to include the stuff about wages. The footballing world's gone money mad.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/alexis-sanchez-demanding-400000-week-10744914

Alexis Sanchez is demanding a staggering £400,000-a-week to sign a new deal at Arsenal.

It leaves Arsenal at a contract stand-off as they have so far offered in excess of £275,000-a-week but Sanchez holds the aces as he has got one year left on his current deal.

Manchester City are keen to sign him but Arsenal are desperate not to sell to a Premier League rival.

Bayern Munich have been scared off by Sanchez's demands and there is a growing feeling he is ready to see out his contract and leave on a free.

Arsenal would then face a dilemma over whether to cash in or gamble on him signing during his final year.

It is a major dilemma for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger but the figures reveal the reasons as to why they have not been able to tie down Sanchez.

Mesut Ozil has been asking for £350,000-a-week and he is also entering the final year of his contract.

Arsenal have confirmed the record £52m signing of Alexandre Lacazette and that will show their ambition and perhaps persuade Sanchez and Ozil.

They have yet to receive any firm offers despite interest from Everton and West Ham.

But Lucas Perez, who has barely played since arriving last summer, could rejoin Deportivo La Coruna in the next few days.

But Wenger insists Lacazette's arrival will give them greater options up front.

Wenger said: "We are very happy to have Alexandre join our group. He has shown over a number of years that he can score goals and that he is a very efficient finisher.

"As well, he has very interesting technical qualities and a strong character. So he is a guy who is a great addition for us, and someone who will help us challenge at the top level this season.”

If papers are to be believed, the mancs might waive Rooney's transfer fee if Everton took on his wages which only have a year to run. It would effectively work out to a 9 mil transfer fee on 75 bags /wk since it all counts the same. I'm still not sure he's worth that for 1 yr. depends how nostalgic Everton are.

Stubbo 10:03 Wed Jul 5

to add to that, I don't believe any premier league club has been fined (or even threatened with a fine or even investigated) for violating FFP from the FA. I know UEFA hit Man city with basically a fine, a while ago, once, and some relegated teams have had a stern lecture in the championship, but that's about it.

Giroud wants to go somewhere decent, not some shoddy run embarrassment of a football club.
